Stefanos Tsitispas’ hopes of finally winning a singles Grand Slam may be on hold, falling in the quarter-finals, but that doesn’t mean it’s over doubles.
He and his brother Petros Tsitsipas have kept their dream of winning a major title as a team alive at Roland Garros, where they beat Frenchmen Manuel Guinard and Gregoire Jacq 7-6(2), 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals.
The brothers have never been beyond the second round at a major as a team prior to the French Open, but they have produced consistent and determined displays in Paris to reach the last eight.
Last season, they won their first doubles title together as a team in Antwerp.
With this the two have also managed to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games next month.
The Tsitsipas brothers will next face Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.
