State League 1 – North West Group

On Saturday, Quarries Park witnessed a riveting showdown between Clifton Hill and Yarraville. Despite their passionate efforts, the game concluded in a disheartening tie with a score of 2-2. Next up, Clifton Hill will be welcoming the struggling Strathmore, while Yarraville will be facing off against the ninth-ranked Corio at home.

Despite putting up a fierce fight, the Western Suburbs fell short of victory against their opponents from Corio. The Greek Australian squad had to settle for a draw against a determined and relentless opponent. The visiting team, however, couldn’t contain their excitement with the final score of 2-2. As for this weekend, Western Suburbs must brace themselves for the relentless and consistently dangerous Sydenham Park.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

Springvale South Aris put up a good fight on Saturday, but victory was a slippery fish that got away in the final minute. The “yellow and black” were doomed by a questionable penalty called by the referee in the last seconds of the game. But hey, at least the atmosphere at Warner Reserve was a winner, with amazingly tasty gyros wafting through the air and a lively crowd cheering on the footballers. And really, four goals and ninety minutes of stunning football? That’s all a true fan could hope for. Keep an eye out this week as Springvale South spices things up with a “Greek” derby against Malvern.”.

Malvern may have gotten kicked in the grass last Saturday, but they’re not dwelling on their 0 -1 loss to Collingwood City. They’re gearing up to take on Springvale South, determined to bounce back and bring home a sweet victory against Aris.

State League 2 – North West Group

Hume United was no match for the mighty Westvale Olympic, who easily cruised to a 4-0 victory. The Greek Australian squad dominated possession and could have netted even more goals if they hadn’t taken a leisurely stroll in the second half. Next up, they’ll take their talents on the road to challenge Craigieburn City.

Mill Park got knocked out of the park, losing 1-5 at home last weekend. Clearly, the Greek Australian team needs to brush up on their defense game and pray for some better luck. But let’s not dwell on the past, this weekend they’ll be hitting the road for a juicy game against P.A.O.K. in Altona East.

The “Doubleheaded Eagle” of Altona is soaring after a 1-2 victory on foreign turf against Lalor United. Now they enter a heated rivalry against Mill Park with sky-high confidence and a fierce desire to triumph.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Bayside Argonauts proudly sailed to victory over the Peninsula Strikers with a score of 0 – 2, leaving their opponents drooning in defeat. Despite being a close second to Hampton East Brighton, the “Argonauts” continue to reign supreme in the standings. This week, they’ll be hosting Berwick City, ready to conquer yet another opponent like true Greek gods.

The mighty Bentleigh United Cobras added another triumph to their record last weekend, gliding to victory on foreign turf. The “yellow and black” squad slithered past Mooroolbark with a score of 1-2, climbing up the standings to a formidable fourth place. As the “Cobras” prepare to strike again this weekend, their home turf will be transformed into a snakepit for the visiting Skye United.

Looks like Chisholm United got a taste of defeat served up by North Caulfield. The Oakleigh team may have put up a good fight, but they left Caulfield with a 1-0 loss. But don’t worry, Chisholm will have a chance at redemption when they host Doncaster Rovers this Friday.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

The Waverley Wanderers fell short with a 1-2 defeat against Kings Domain on their own turf. Next up, they’ll battle the Yarra Jets, who are trailing closely behind in eighth place by just five measly points.

State League 4 – Northern Group

Apollon of Darebin gracefully conquered the Docklands, leaving the opposing team in awe. With expert skill and strategic efficiency, they claimed a commanding 3-1 victory. Watch out, Glenroy Lions, because this weekend, Darebin United is ready to host you.

West Preston suffered a lackluster loss of 2-4 at home to Fawkner. Unfortunately, the “Greens” couldn’t outshine the visiting team who seemed to conquer the field. On Saturday, the “Greens” have to hit the road and play Greenvale United. Maybe they’ll have better luck away from home? Here’s hoping.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

Looks like East Kew Olympiakos needs some olympic-sized luck if they want to climb to the top. They tied 1-1 against the Templestowe Wolves, but this week they’re bringing the game home by hosting East Bentleigh.

State League 5 – Northern Group

With yet another notch in their victory belt, the unstoppable Keon Park A.E.K conquered Birrarung with a razor-thin score of 0-1. Promotional goals? Check. This week, they’re coming for the leaders Meadow Park, currently only three points ahead in the standings. Buckle up, it’s about to get wild on the pitch.
