Renowned crime novels by Greek Australian author Polychronis Koutsakis are set to make their way to the small screen, marking a new milestone in his career.
Koutsakis, a celebrated author and permanent resident of Perth, has signed a significant deal with the prestigious Greek publishing house Patakis.
The agreement paves the way for the television adaptation of his popular crime novels, including “Athens Blues” and “Baby Blue,” which are also widely available in Australia.
The project will be undertaken by Focus Productions, an acclaimed audiovisual production company.
Focus Productions is known for its success with the television series “Maestro,” created by Christoforos Papakaliatis, which captivated millions of viewers on the global streaming giant Netflix.
The adaptation will transform Koutsakis’ three novels into a compelling TV series.
The third novel is slated for release in 2025 and will feature the protagonist Stratos Gazi. The series is expected to be completed within two years.
Koutsakis himself, along with Danae Skiadi and Nikolas Papagiannis, will serve as screenwriters and take on leading roles.
