Melbourne’s Hellenic Museum is set to host its first responsive theatre event, ‘Mysterion’ on Friday, 5 July, and Saturday, 13 July. An immersive experience invites participants to become part of a secret society and engage with the affairs of Greek gods in an interactive adventure for all age groups.
‘Mysterion’ challenges guests to be initiated into a secret society where they will undertake quests to uncover the secrets of immortality. Hosted by Medusa RPG and the Hellenic Museum it allows participants to create a shared narrative through a “choose your own adventure”-style storytelling.
Upon arrival, guests (minors must be accompanied by an adult) will be divided into two factions: one dedicated to Hades, Lord of the Underworld, and the other to Persephone, Goddess of Spring. Each participant will receive ability cards and a mask before being initiated into the Medusa Society through an opening ritual.
The Hellenic Museum will be transformed into an underworld-inspired environment where guests can explore galleries, interact with figures from ancient Greek myth and history, embark on quests, and solve puzzles to unlock deeper storylines.
