State League 1 – North West Group

It seems the Greek Australian teams were serving up some winning gyros in the State League 1 last weekend!

Clifton Hill struck down cold Ballarat, taking home a delicious 0-1 win. And now, the ‘Blues’ are gearing up to spice things up in a Greek-themed derby against Western Suburbs this weekend.

The Western Suburbs are heading into their game against Clifton Hill on a high. After defeating the Brimbank Stallions 0-1, the club is oozing with positivity.

Yarraville rocked the boat with a smashing away victory over Sydenham with a score of 1 – 4, proving they have the skills to conquer even the toughest opponents. Up next, they’ll be serving up another dose of dominance when they host Upfield in a highly-ranked rumble.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

Malvern City has been playing mind games with their opponents, leaving them both flummoxed and impressed with their recent results and top-notch performances. In their most recent triumph, they dominated Brandon Park with a 1-0 victory. Fans are over the moon with their team’s meteoric rise in the standings. The upcoming weekend will see Malvern City playing on home turf against Old Scotch – it’s sure to be a showdown of epic proportions.

Aris Springvale South’s winning streak is back on. They crushed Mornington with a 5-4 score, leaving fans at the edge of their seats for 90 minutes of pure entertainment. Next up, they’ll be taking on the Casey Comets on the road.

State League 2 – North West Group

Currently sitting in the runner-up spot, Westvale Olympic is shamelessly chasing Keilor Park’s tail. And in a rather Herculean effort, the Greek-Australian squad emerged victorious against Hoppers Crossing with a narrow 0-1 win. Next up on their agenda, they are gearing up for a highly anticipated clash against rivals Altona East P.A.O.K.

PAOK is coming into the derby with their morale in pieces, having been crushed 3-0 by Keilor Park in their previous match.

The game between Mill Park and Whittlesea Rangers ended in a thrilling 2-2 tie, leaving both teams satisfied with their stunning goals and impressive plays. This weekend, the “pigeons” will spread their wings and take on Lalor United on their turf.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Argonauts continue their reign at the top of the heap, dispatching the Cobras with a decisive 5-2 victory in their derby. Next up, the Argonauts will play host to Skye United, while the not-so-lucky Cobras will host Berwick City at home.

Looks like Chisholm United couldn’t handle the heat from Hampton East Brighton, suffering a 1-4 defeat. Let’s see if they can redeem themselves against Peninsula Strikers at the Oakleigh “arena” this weekend. Game on!

State League 4 – Eastern Group

The Waverley Wanderers managed to secure a singular point in the match at Albert Park. Despite putting in their A-game, both teams were forced to settle for a tie with a score of 1-1. The upcoming away game for AEK Waverley against Riversdale is sure to be a wild ride.

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United outplayed Thornbury Athletic to claim a 3-4 victory on their turf. But this weekend, all eyes will be on the Hellenistic showdown as third-ranked Great Apollon welcomes West Preston for a derby full of Greek fire.

West Preston will strut into the derby with all the confidence of a cat who just caught the canary, after obliterating the Glenroy Lions with a flawless 3-0 victory last week.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

Olympiacos, from East Kew, suffered a defeat last week. The Red and Whites were beaten 2-0 by Old Trinity and are now preparing for their upcoming home match against Old St Kevins.

State League 5 – Northern Group

Last week, Keon Park A.E.K scored an epic victory on enemy turf. The mighty A.E.K dominated La Trobe University with a 2-4 triumph and is now gearing up for their next showdown with the Mitchell Rangers.
