Thanasi Kokkinakis has cruised past Christian Langmo 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Sydney Pro Tour.

The 28-year-old was clinical with his serve, racking up 13 aces, with his 13th being the match winner.

He had a 91 per cent win rate on first serve and 79 per cent on his second serve.

Kokkinakis also had his American opponent on break point 12 times, breaking him twice.

Much like his good friend Nick Kyrgios, the Greek Aussie also recently spoke about Andy Murray, sharing a ‘special’ moment he had with him after last year’s Australian Open defeat.

Speaking on the Tennis Brothers YouTube channel, Kokkinakis spoke about his five set, five-and-a-half-hour match with Murray.

“That was a rough one,” he said.

“I was playing great, felt really good, two sets to love up, a break up in the third, I got nervous.

“He started playing super aggressive, played to all hours of the night, an incredible match.”

He revealed that after the match, which finished at around four in the morning, he and Murray “shared a pretty special moment in the locker room.”

“He’d just finished his ice bath, I was like, I’m not recovering, because I’m not going to have another match for a while, so I was sitting there shattered.

“He hobbled over to me, he gave me a big hug and embrace, and that was a pretty special moment.”

At the Challengers Sydney event, Kokkinakis will next face fellow Aussie Philip Sekulic.
