The Thessaloniki Association “The White Tower” will host a community spanakopita competition on Sunday, 24 November at 12pm, in Northcote to celebrate 40 years of Melbourne and Thessaloniki’s sister city partnership.
The event held at 439 High Street, promises an afternoon filled with delicious food, music, and friendly culinary rivalry as participants are invited to bring their homemade spanakopita creations for a chance to win cash prizes awarded to the top three bakers, as judged by a special panel.
The first prize winner will receive $600, with the second and third prizes set at $300 and $150, respectively.
Sponsored by local businesses, including MELISSA Restaurant, Prahran Seafoods, Greece Express Supermarket, Orthodox Funerals, and KTENA Knitting, the event also offers a full lunch and beverages included in the $60 ticket price.
