Thanasi Kokkinakis has won the NSW Open, defeating fellow Australian Ricky Hijikata 6-1, 6-1.

After missing a few ATP events and sidelined since the Laver Cup in September, Kokkinakis returns with a title.

It was yet again another clinical performance from Kokkinakis, who went through the entire tournament without dropped a single set.

The second seed was too good for his first seed opponent, especially in serving, where he hit 10 aces and had an 84 per cent first serve win rate.

His serving game was strong throughout all matches in Sydney, reaching double digits in all matches. An average of 12 aces in the five matches he played.

The 28-year-old also won five of his nine break points and was never broken once by Hijikata.

This win marks Kokkinakis’ first ATP Challenger title on home soil, a significant milestone in his career.
