Miltos Tentoglou has been awarded the title of Balkan Athlete of the Year for 2024. The Greek “golden” Olympian and leading long jumper was recognised for his outstanding achievements at the Balkan Association Gala, held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

While Tentoglou could not attend the event in Sofia, his award was received on his behalf by his coach and national jump coordinator, George Pomaski.

Also in attendance was Lambros Papakostas, advisor to the president and vice president of the Balkan Athletic Federation (ABAF).

High jump world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh was named top female athlete.

Rising stars included high jumper Angelina Topic as the top emerging female athlete, and Serbian middle-distance runner Aldin Katovic as the top emerging male athlete.
