The first half was as intense as a game of Monopoly, with Victory slowly accumulating pressure and taking control of the board.
Reno Piscopo had a chance to collect some serious cash, but Macarthur’s goalkeeper, Filip Kurto, shut that down faster than a Get Out of Jail Free card.
Nishan Velupillay and Zinedine Machach were on fire, building skyscrapers of attack in midfield thanks to the solid foundation provided by Jordi Valadon and Ryan Teague.
Macarthur tried to sneak in some houses on the Victory’s property, but their defense was faster than a passing GO and shut down those opportunities.
But like a game of Monopoly, it wouldn’t be complete without some back and forth. The second half saw the visitors taking over the lead, like a skilled hotelier.
But then came the good stuff. Valère Germain scored an epic goal, which could only be described as Park Place-worthy, thanks to an amazing cross.
Just like a Chance card, Victory had a golden opportunity to equalize.
But it was Machach’s turn to play and his shot was more like a shot of whiskey – way too high.
Finally, after patiently waiting for their turn, Victory was awarded a penalty, thanks to a free parking handball by Macarthur. And the responsibility fell on the newest player, Daniel Arzani, who made it look as easy as passing GO.
But the best was yet to come.
Piscopo’s goal could only be described as a deluxe hotel on Boardwalk – simply stunning and enough to give Victory the advantage.
The final minutes of the game saw some new players coming in, like buying some fresh properties to secure a win. And Victory did just that, holding on to their victory like a Get Out of Jail Free card.
Two wins in a row? Looks like Victory collects $200 and takes a trip around the board.
