Fight to Live, a documentary directed by Greek Australian filmmaker Tom Haramis, has landed on Netflix in Australia and New Zealand.
An emotionally charged film, it takes viewers into the life of UFC and Bare Knuckle Fighting champion Bec Rawlings, a domestic abuse survivor who has triumphed over adversity to make her mark in one of the world’s toughest sports.
Known as “Rowdy” for her fearless attitude, Rawlings’ story is one of resilience and transformation.
Fight to Live captures her journey from a troubled youth in Launceston to a protective mother escaping abuse and ultimately to a fierce competitor in the cage.
Through intimate and unfiltered footage, Haramis paints a raw and gripping portrait of Rawlings, exploring her battles both in and out of the ring.
Haramis previously told Neos Kosmos that the film carries a powerful message for those trapped in the harrowing grip of domestic violence.
He said he believes the film serves as “a beacon of hope” and that its message is that “your voice matters, your life matters, and you have the power to stand up for what is right.”
The film premiered at the Gold Coast Film Festival earlier this year and was later featured at Sydney’s Inner West Film Fest.
Its theatrical release in May aligned with Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
