Over $20,000 has been raised through the GoFundMe campaign “In loving memory of Vicky Apostolopoulos” to support the family of Vicky Apostolopoulos, a mother of two who was stabbed to death at her home in Bayswater, Melbourne.
The fundraiser was initiated by a group of Vicky’s work colleagues and friends.
“Vicky was fun, loving, and caring…She not only cared about her own family, she cared about us all, she was our family too” said one of Vicky’s friends and colleagues, who worked with her for over 20 years at Australia Post and wished to remain anonymous, to Neos Kosmos.
Vicky Apostolopoulos, 51, was fatally stabbed at her doorstep.
Police allege her neighbour, 47-year-old Milorad Zaric, is responsible for the fatal attack, which occurred in the presence of Apostolopoulos’s two teenage sons and Zaric’s 17-year-old son, who sustained minor injuries.
According to the GoFundMe page, Vicky “lost her life protecting another, showing the selflessness and bravery, she was known for.”
“She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister and devoted friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.”
