All Saints Grammar marked the end of another successful academic year with its 2024 Speech Day, celebrating student achievements, community spirit, and exciting plans for the future.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer led by Father Dimitrios Papaikonomou and the singing of the Australian and Greek national anthems. School captains from both the Primary and Secondary campuses opened the proceedings, setting a reflective and celebratory tone.
Head of School Mrs Elfa Lillis, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the school’s growth, resilience, and achievements over the year.
“This year has been one of perseverance, creativity, and achievement, made possible by the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families,” she stated.
Musical performances added to the festivities, with standout moments including a rendition of Autumn Leaves by Year 10 student Eleni Michailou and a Michael Jackson tribute by Year 12 Music students.
The event’s highlight was the attendance of Greek football icons Giorgos Karagounis, Angelos Charisteas, and Theodoros Zagorakis—key players in Greece’s historic victory at the 2004 UEFA European Championship. Sharing their journey from underdogs to champions, the trio inspired students with their story of teamwork, perseverance, and triumph.
Organised by alumnus Nicholas Mouzourakis, owner of Football Brilliance Academy, the legends also presented trophies, including to the school’s Under-16 Boys’ FUTSAL team, which achieved a remarkable second-place finish at regional championships despite stiff competition from larger schools.
The day also featured the presentation of the 2025 student leadership team. Outgoing captains Vasilieos Manis and Karina Giokaris reflected on their leadership experiences and the values that define All Saints Grammar.
As part of its commitment to giving back, the school announced a $5,000 donation to the St. Nicholas Mission Academy in Ghana, supporting free education for 133 children.
Looking ahead, Mrs Lillis unveiled exciting upgrades for the school, including a new infants’ playground, air conditioning in the gymnasium, and four modular classrooms with a science lab to expand the Secondary campus.
Plans for the school’s 35th-anniversary celebrations in 2025 were also announced, promising events that will honour its rich history and community contributions.
The All Saints Parents’ Association (ASPA) was commended for raising $150,000 to support future initiatives.
Mrs Lillis expressed her gratitude to the entire school community, saying, “We will continue building on our strong foundation, striving to create an environment where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their fullest potential.”
The day concluded with a sense of pride and anticipation for the future as All Saints Grammar celebrated its achievements and prepared for another year of success.
