Atromitos got one back through Nikos Athanasiou early into the second period (50′), with the defender scoring from outside the box in what ultimately proved to be a consolation goal in the tie.
Panathinaikos hung on to record their second 2-1 win of their Round of 16 tie, seizing the remaining spot in the final eight where they will now face eternal enemies Olympiacos.

Asteras Tripolis is all but certain to face OFI in the next round, with the Cretans to play their second leg with Panachaiki tomorrow at 2am following their 5-0 decimation in the previous leg.
PAOK takes on AEK in the other quarter-final clash tomorrow at 4.30am in what is a far more compelling affair, with the Thessaloniki giants striving to overturn Enosi’s current 1-0 lead on aggregate.
