Greek athlete Anastasia Marinakou took out first place after a gruelling run in the 13th Athens Half-Marathon.
Marinakou completed the event before all the other competitors in the women’s race, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:14:16 to win both the general and Greek championship.
Bulgarian runner Marinela Nineva followed her with a time of 1:14:45 with fellow Greek Eirini Tsoupaki coming third (1:17:27).
Stamatia Noula rounded out the Greek team’s rankings as she finished third with a time of 1:17:32.
On the men’s side, Romanian competitor Luca Dragos Pop finished first with a time of 1:04:49.
Pop was followed by North Macedonian athlete Dario Ivanoski, who passed the finish line with a time of 1:05:19, while Nikos Stamoulis passed third with a time of 1:05:34.
Stamoulis went down as the top Greek runner of the race with second and third being Panagiotis Karaiskos and Giorgos Stamoulis, who finished with times of 1:06:14 and 1:06:21 respectively.
