Women navigating menopause will have the opportunity to gain expert advice and support at the Second Global Online Event – “Take Control of Your Menopause Journey” hosted by the Food For Thought Network Inc.

The free event, scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at 2pm (AEST) via Zoom, aims to break the silence surrounding menopause by providing evidence-based information, practical guidance, and empowerment strategies.

Four distinguished Greek women experts will lead discussions, offering valuable insights from their respective fields:

Clinical Associate Professor Magdalena Simonis – a respected health expert, thought leader, and advocate for women’s and gender health. Based at the University of Melbourne’s Department of General Practice who practices preventative medicine in Melbourne. Magdalena is a government advisor, focusing on clinical safety, gender equity, integration of technology and climate health. Her contributions include developing educational resources and mentoring healthcare professionals. She is also a frequent media spokesperson and Neos Kosmos columnist.

Dr Sophie Avramoudas – a Psychiatry Registrar in her first year of training at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine, followed by a Doctor of Medicine, at the University of Melbourne, and she is currently completing a Master of Psychiatry at the same institution.

Emily Dimitriadis – a Clinical Pharmacist in the Emergency Department of one of the busiest hospitals in Victoria – the Northern Hospital. She has worked as a pharmacist for close to twenty years. Currently, Emily is also the Deputy Mayor of the City of Darebin, known for her unwavering commitment to justice and community betterment.

Dr Aspasia Rabba – an educational and developmental psychologist and lecturer at Monash University. As a clinician, she leads a specialist team within Victoria’s largest public health service, Monash Health. Aspasia is a board director, clinician-researcher, and strong advocate for autism research and support. Dr Rabba will also be the panel moderator.

By addressing both the medical and psychological aspects of menopause, the event seeks to equip women with the tools they need to navigate this significant life transition with confidence.
