This past Sunday, 13 rising comedians from across Australia took to the stage at Melbourne Town Hall for the RAW Comedy National Grand Final.

After each gave their best five-minute sets, the winner and runners-up were all Greek Australian comics.

Peter Josip from Victoria took out the 2025 RAW Comedy title to much applause from the crowd for his set the covered racial identity, martial arts and contemporary political triggers around immigration.

Runners-up in the close race were Mariah Nickolas from New South Wales and Josh Spyro from Queensland.

Montana Papadinis from VIC was another Greek finalist in the event.

Josip not only took home the title but also secured a spot at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to compete in ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ and rub shoulders with leading emerging comics from around the world.

“It feels amazing! Doesn’t really feel real at the moment but I’m very excited to go to Edinburgh and compete,” he told Neos Kosmos.
