Around 150 Pancretans of Melbourne and their friends came together to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia on Sunday 11 July.
The afternoon high tea hosted at the Cretan Village in Wantirna south was a great success. The Association held a raffle, lucky door prizes and an auction, which featured prizes donated by a range of local businesses and people.
The program of the day included keynote speaker Dr Haider Najjar, and Obstetrician-Gynecologist who with his presentation kept the audience engaged and at the end gave the attendees the opportunity to ask their questions about ovarian cancer diagnosis, available treatment and fertility.
Cancer survivor Betty Giannopoulos also addressed the guests, who bravely shared her own captivating journey with cancer starting from her diagnosis back in July 2020, through to her treatment and beyond.
Con Laz MC’d the event and also added a tonne of fun and laughter to the day.
Another highlight of the day was the auction presented by Michael Bourke, a professional auctioneer who gave the guests moments of incredible laughter with his auctioneering talents.
Members of the Board of Directors Mary Rissakis, Maria Maniou, Joanna Psarakis and Argiro Mihelakis organised the event.
They extend their gratitude to all the sponsors, volunteers and of course all those who attended, who with their participation contributed to the success of the event.
All the fund raised will be donated directly to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
