A new community kitchen has been established in Melbourne’s north-west by Paradise 4 kids, the charity organisation widely known for supporting the mission Greek Orthodox priest Father Themis Adamopoulos established in Sierra Leone, Africa.

“In Victoria, job losses, rent rises, and benefit lags have severely impacted the vulnerable in the community,” says Director and Greek Australian nurse Jane Pallot.

“There is a food insecurity crisis, people cannot put food on their tables. For this reason, P4Ks established a community kitchen, to go out into the streets
of Brimbank and feed and nourish people in need.”

The aim of the group is to provide people who are on the streets and otherwise in need with a nutritious warm meal at least once a week.

Under the council approved initiative, the volunteer group will work with other providers in the sector to help provide support.

The community kitchen will run every Tuesday night from 7 pm from the St Albans Market car park.
