Eat GRK is all about bringing the best Greek food to the streets and who can say no to their sunny courtyard, even if it’s not looking over the Aegean?

This Ithaca inspired eatery’s simple, authentic cooking methods – combined with fresh ingredients to create Greek meals that get your taste buds begging for more – has spoken straight into New South Wales’ heart.

Their motto is as simple as ‘Family, Food & Greek Coffee’, yet enough to keep them on the list of the state’s most loved rotisserie restaurants.

At Eat GRK, family always comes first and food comes a very close second, always followed of course by a Greek coffee.

Their mouth-watering, self-basting charred meats are cooked in the same way as the original cooking method of an ancient Greek kitchen – over charcoal.

Eat GRK’s strong connection with Cyprus is also evident on the menu; something that makes us give them a few more points since it’s hard to find good traditional Cypriot dishes in Australia.

The varying pita wrap meals are a staple, with their ‘Classic GRK’ being a best seller, closely followed by the ‘Dancing Zorba’ mixed grilled meat wrap ft feta sauce and capsicum. ‘Yiayia’s Special’ and the ‘Haloumi Wrap’ get a fair share of success, not to mention the ‘Prawn Delight’ wrap.

On Sundays, it’s all about the souvla – lamb or pork marinated for 30 hours with 15 fresh herbs and spices before being slow-cooked over charcoal and carved off the spit.

Hunks of grilled haloumi ($3) are also heavenly, while a pita wrap meal is given whip-cracks of flavour from red onion, tomato, capsicum, olive spread, cucumber and creamy feta sauce ($13.50).

Our personal favourites include:
-The loukaniko: pork based wine-soaked sausage
Sheftalies: skinless Cypriot pork sausages
– Haloumi chips: chip sized haloumi fried to perfection with sweet chilli dipping sauce
– Nutella pita: warm pita topped with Nutella and sprinkled with crumbled malt biscuit
