A new family restaurant is to be opened by American Greek celebrity chef, Cat Cora, at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort at Florida in the US.

The venue will be named Kouzzina and feature a menu of Mediterranean-style cuisine that pays tribute to the chef’s Greek roots. The grand opening of the Disney-owned space is anticipated to take place later this year.

Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Jay Rasulo said he is “pleased to welcome Cat Cora and her engaging new concept for Kouzzina to the Walt Disney World Resort.”

Cora was born into a family of Greek restaurateurs in Mississippi as Katerina Karagiozis.

After being immersed in two different flavourful cultures her whole life Cora has taken her uniquely combined background into the kitchen, exploring various techniques handed down through generation after generation.

Her food philosophy is to create simple yet sensational meals. Cora’s favourite Greek and Mediterranean dishes will be served at the new restaurant.

The chef holds many credits to her name including graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York and also Executive Chef for Bon Appetit magazine.

She delights in the concept of teaming with Disney’s BoardWalk scene, expressing that, “Together we’re going to develop a truly amazing contemporary Mediterranean restaurant.”

Rasulo added, “The collaboration between Cat and Disney represents a significant step in the ongoing commitment to offer unique culinary experiences and choices to guests.
