Renowned broadcaster, author and home cook Nigella Lawson has returned to Melbourne to promote her new book, but couldn’t help stopping by Hellenic Republic for a quick Greek feast.

“Oh joy of joys: toasted pitta, white taramasalata and fava with onions and capers at @hellenicrep Brighton: only the beginning of the evening’s feast. How wonderful to be back in Melbourne. Bravo @gcalombaris,” Ms Lawson wrote, sharing a photo of her food last night at George Calombaris’ Hellenic Republic in Brighton.

Early last year Ms Lawson also raved over Gazi’s hot chips in her column, writing “they’re fat chips that are halfway to potato wedges, fried intensely in garlicky oil and, once crisp and golden, tossed in a bowl with proper Greek dried oregano and crumbles of sharp feta.”

Ms Lawson and Mr Calombaris worked together on MasterChef 2016.

Ms Lawson recently released her latest cookbook At My Table and is in Australia for a series of talks on ‘Why food matters’ with the School of Life.
