Melbourne’s latest Hellenic restaurant Kritamos has opened its doors in the heart of Richmond, but with a musical twist. Musician Sifis Tsourdalakis is swapping his Cretan Lyra for an apron to bring his customers authentic Cretan home made flavours.
The Greek Australian recently returned to Melbourne after spending the last few years in his parents’ birth land and will be sharing all the cultural and food experiences of Crete through Kritamos restaurant Kritamos is a place for togetherness, inspired by a common love for traditional home-style Greek cuisine, with an influence of Mediterranean, more specifically Cretan flavours.
The food in Kritamos incorporates ingredients from Greece and in particular from the island of Crete, with foods like Cretan olive oil, barley rusks and Cretan cheese a menu staple. A number of Greek beverages including soft drinks, beer and wines from Lyrarakis, Santorini and Zacharioudakis estates, are also on offer.
Kritamos is situated at 280 Bridge Road, Richmond, Victoria 3121. Kritamos is open from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm, and Friday to Sunday, 11:30 am to 11:00 pm. For reservations, call (03) 9428 2222.
