In post-crisis Greece, there’s a rush for iPhones with the new iPhone 11 selling out on the same day it was launched on Friday.

Greek daily newspaper Kathimerini reports that the entire stock was sold out by Friday afternoon with demand heavily focused on expensive models, such as the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max that have a retail value of 1,229-1,789 euros. The price tag did not stop Greek buyers from purchasing the phone, with 70 per cent of the handsets sold belonging to the expensive models.

Those who thought ahead pre-ordered the pone, however the demand was huge with many consumers unable to get their new phones as the stock ran out.
