Eleftherios Petrounias has made Greeks all over the world proud once more, winning the European title for rings for the fifth consecutive time.

Petrounias won his latest gold medal on Saturday, at the finals of the 2021 European Championships in Artistic Gymnastics, which took place in Basel, Switzerland.

The Greek athlete had the hardest routine on the still rings with a 6.3 difficulty, but his performance was supreme with a total of 15.400 points winning him first place, with Russian Nikita Nagornyy following (15.033) and Italian Salvatore Maresca rounding out the podium with 14.900 points.

Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Katerina Sakellaropoulou are among those who took to social media to congratulate Petrounias.
