‘Home and Away’ actress Ada Nicodemou is in contention to win her first Logie of her career after being nominated for a sixth time.
The actress of Greek Cypriot descent was announced on Monday morning as a nominee at an event at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, hosted by Seven’s Kylie Gillies, Nine’s Sylvia Jeffries and Network 10‘s Tristan MacManus.
The ‘Home and Away’ star is among the list in the TV Week Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress category at this year’s awards.
Ms Nicodemou has been playing the character of Leah Patterson-Baker (née Poulos) on the show since 2000, making her one of the longest serving actors in an Australia TV soap opera.
During her time on the programme, she has been nominated for five different Logies, with this now being her sixth, but she is yet to win one.
She is battling it out with five other actresses for the award, including with two fellow castmates in Emily Symons and Lynne McGranger.
The event’s 63rd edition will be held on Sunday 30 July, at The Star in Sydney, the first time that Sydney has hosted the event since 1986.
The awards will be broadcast exclusively on Channel Seven and 7Plus on the night and hosted by comedian Sam Pang.
Voting for all popular awards, including Ms Nicodemou’s category, is open until the end of the red carpet telecast on Sunday 30 July at 7.30pm AEST, the one exception being the TV WEEK Gold Logie Award, which, for the first time ever, will stay open throughout the telecast and close at 10.30pm AEST.
All voting can be done at tvweeklogies.com.au
The TV WEEK Logie Awards is supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
