Greek led Cove Bar & Grill at Sharks at Kereela in Sourthern Sydney have taken home a regional award at the Clubs NSW Perfect Pate awards.
This is the third consecutive regional win for them, with the eatery also finishing runner-up for the State award for a second straight year.
146 clubs were judged over five weeks and given a score out of five for a chosen dish, Cove Bar & Grill chose an “old favourite” – Prawn Saganaki.
The dish was created by head chef Anita Lisson and consists sautéed garlic prawns in white wine and napolitana sauce, with kalamata olives, crumbled feta while served with char-grilled pita bread.
Gina Louloudakis, contract-caterer at Sharks at Kareela spoke with local paper St George & Sutherland Shire Leader, saying the dish has been on the menu since she opened the bar and grill in 2017.
“It’s an old favourite and we serve at least 20 to 30 portions a day,” she said.
“At one stage we were thinking of taking it off the menu to change things up, and there was an uproar. It turned out it was a favourite dish for many of our customers, so by popular demand has remained on the menu.”

Louloudakis said her team of about 30 were “thrilled” to win the southern Sydney regional award two years ago and backing it up with two Perfect Plate awards since.
The restaurant receives their produce from wholesaler M & G Seafood, which happens to be owned by her husband Nick.
Rounding out the top three were second placed 615 Brasserie at Miranda RSL Club, for Hokey Pokey Deep Fried Ice Cream and in third place was The Restaurant at Bundeena Community & Services Club for their Old Style Fish and Chips.
