One of Australia’s largest Greek community festivals, the Oakleigh Glendi, is back for 2023, in a celebration of the Greek community’s rich culture, through music, performance and food.
Over two days on Saturday November 4 and Sunday November 5, the festival will commemorate Feast Day of our Patron Saints Anargiri and the anniversary of the official ‘OXI’ Greek National Day.
Starting from 12 noon on Saturday and ending at 6pm on Sunday, Warawee Park Oakleigh will come alive with all things Greece.
Some of the highlights are performances from the Kinisi band and Maria Maroulis on the main stage, with traditional dancing and music across both days.
An artisan market will offer visitors to purchase jewellery, crafts, clothing and more, as well as food and drinks of Greek and Mediterranean flavours – and a Hellenic spirits bar.
Amusements, rides and activities for the kids and cooking demonstrations for all.

For those with a strong sweet tooth, Honey Dee Loukoumades will be hosting an eating competition of their namesake dessert.
If you think you can eat as much chocolate covered lououamades, then the main stage at 2.50pm Saturday and 1.40pm Sunday will be your destination.
Those in attendance of the Glendi have the opportunity to win two return tickets to Greece, with a raffle drawn on Sunday 4pm – tickets cost $5 each.
Last year the Victorian Labor government announced that if re-elected it will commit $400,000 in funding over the next four years to support the Oakleigh Greek Glendi.
Steve Dimopoulos MP announced it on his social media last November.
“Oakleigh Glendi. You know it. You love it. And so do we. Labor will back our Glendi with $400,000 in funding over the next 4 years.”
“Over 30,000 people from all over Melbourne turn out to enjoy this amazing festival (even in the rain!) – food, music, dance, rides and just such a vibrant, warm atmosphere.
“We’re proud of our diversity. Our multiculturalism. It’s why we’ve supported festivals across Victoria.”
