Members and friends of the Deakin University Greek Society gathered at Melbourne’s Vogue Ballroom on Friday for their third – and biggest yet – annual gala ball.
Over 350 guests were welcomed with a glass of champagne on arrival at the much-anticipated Hellenic party enjoying a four course meal feast and a freeflowing bar, alongside a night of entertainment.

A performance by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne Dance group was enjoyed by DUGS members and their friends who made the most of the event with lively conversations, and of course some posed for photos.
Club Dj’s Kosta and Thomas Nico’s selections set the tone for the night followed by live musicians Nick Sofos on percussion and Harris on bouzouki who created a jam packed dancefloor until the early hours.
Current president Aleks Paris said he attributed the events success to the all round efforts of the executive and general committee members.

“The sponsorship and raffles valued over $20,000 as well as the support of all the university Greek Clubs also steered the event to be a huge success, he said, adding that “DUGS looks forward to seeing everyone again at their future events. Let’s keep the Greek spirit, Culture, Language and traditions alive!”
