Fan favourite Greek mother and daughter duo Anne and Maree were eliminated from My Kitchen Rules this week.
It was heartbreak for the Greek cooks, who finished on 19 out of 30 on their challenge, narrowly edged out by Lol and Lil’s 21 points.
Anne and Maree went all-in showcasing their heritage with a traditional Greek feast of Lamb shoulder, Lemon potatoes, Dolmades, Greek salad, and Tzatziki.
Their dessert was a handcrafted Ekmek Kataifi
“I never thought I’d get here, to be honest. I’m so proud,” Maree said on the episode, reflecting their journey.
Anne added: “Thank you for doing this with me, allowing me to live out my dream.”
“We are going to go home with our heads held high. The fact that we even got chosen to do this – we are winners,” Maree said.
In an interview with Neos Kosmos in September, the two said participating in the show was all about love and legacy.
The ‘Gourmet Greeks’, as they’re known by, were able to showcase their heritage and honour their late mum/yiayia Mary’s legacy.
They know that she would have been proud.
