JUSTICE FOR CYPRUS SOUGHT IN NSW
14 July: The Justice for Cyprus Co-coordinating Committee are organising a fundraiser lunch, to raise money for the expenses for the Commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Turkish invasion and occupation of Cyprus at the Cyprus Community Club (58-76 Stanmore Road, Stanmore).
21 July: A memorial service in memory of the fallen of Cyprus and a prayer for the missing persons will be held at 10am on Sunday 21 July at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady (242 Cleveland Street, Redfern). This will be followed by a trisagion service at 1.30pm. A rally for Cyprus will take place via Castlereagh Street, ending at Sydney Town Hall at 483 George Street, Sydney. At 3.30pm, the Anti-Occupation gathering will take place at the Cyprus Community of NSW and cultural events. Free buses will be available from the Cyprus Community Club (58-76 Stanmore Road, Stanmore) to Martin Place. Buses will depart between 12pm and 12.34 pm. return buses will depart from the corner of George and Bathurst Streets.

MELBOURNE MOURNS THE VICTIMS
The Coordinating Committee of Justice for Cyprus (SEKA) is organising a number of events to commemorate the human rights violations following the illegal invasion of the island by Turkey in 1974 and the continued occupation of the island since then. After a candlelight candlelight vigil at the steps of Victoria’s Parliament House on Friday, 12 July, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, 13 July, at 12pm at the Australian Hellenic Memorial at Birdwood Avenue, Melbourne.
On Sunday 14 July, a memorial for Fallen Heroes will be held at Agios Efstathios Church, Dorcas Street, South Melbourne. A rally is being organised at noon at the Greek Precinct on Lonsdale Street with people being called to gather at noon for a 1pm start. During this event, representatives of Cypriot and Greek organisations will call for the withdrawal of Turkish troops and the end of the occupation of Cyprus. Community members are urged to participate.
On 14 August, a peaceful protest will be held outside the Turkish Embassy (24 Albert Rd, South Melbourne) in demand of the withdrawal of the Turkish troops and an end to the Turkish occupation.

GIPPSLAND REMEMBERS THE INVASION
On Sunday 14 July, the Greek Orthodox Community of Gippsland is hosting a memorial service at the Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of the Dormition of Our Lady (42-44 Elgin St, Morwell) to pray for the fallen heroes of the coup that took place in Cyprus in 1974. To follow there will be refreshments at the hall. On Sunday 28 July, the community will also be hosting a get together from 11.00 am-2.00 pm to network with members of the community, enjoy good food, along with music and dancing. Free to attend.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S TRIBUTE
The Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia are commemorating 45 years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus at 10.30am on Sunday, 14 July with a memorial for the lives lost by civilians and soldiers alike in July 1974. A service will be held at the Cathedral of Archangels Michael and Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church (288 Franklin Street, Adelaide).
