Greeks planted 1,000 trees in areas plagued by the Greek wildfires in 2018.

The trees were planted in collaboration with We4all at Mati and Neo Voutsas by volunteers, students and artists.

The group also sent a message of solidarity to victims of Australia’s bushfires.

A message was posted on social media:

The message urged Australians to stay strong. “Seventeen months ago, everything was burned to the ground here. We lost thousands of our trees, our homes, our stores but worst of all we lost 102 of our beloved people,” states the message, that goes on to show solidarity with the people facing the “never-ending nightmare” of fires.
