Opacize Fawkner is running its fourth Good Friday Appeal Charity Class on Friday, 3 April, to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

“Last year we raised $9,100, this year we want to raise $10,000,” said organiser Sophia Petras.

“So far, we have raised $6,000 from private donations and raffles.”

The event takes place at John Fawkner College in Fawkner and Opacise Melbourne instructors will be joined on stage by instructors from Adelaide to lead the dancing on the stage.

MC Con Laz will direct proceedings and Dio Patrides Band will provide live music with djs Kosta and Thomas Nico doing their bit.

The theme this year is the 1950s and there will cars from the era up front. Everyone attending the event will receive gift bags.

Food trucks will also be available and there will be raffles and silent auctions during the evening which starts at 7.30pm. And a mystery guest artist will make an appearance.

Ms Petras said she had been organising the fundraising event in gratitude for the role the Royal Children’s Hospital played in helping her sister when she was younger.

Entrance is $10 at the door.
