A Greek agricultural organisation has donated feta cheese to feed the masses.

Elgo-Dimitra donated a ton and a half of feta cheese to churches and charity groups in Greece and the United States. New York City’s Meals on Wheels received 57 kilos, whereas 80 kilos were donated to the Archdiocesan Cathedral Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Other churches and charity groups also received cheese in Athens, Thessaloniki and Volos.

The 1,550 kilograms of feta cheese were originally intended for use in promotional activities in France, the UK, Germany, the US and Canada, however these initiatives were suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.
