The best learning takes place out of the classroom and Pedia Greek School applied this principle in practice yesterday.

The students learnt about Greek carnival (apokries) by immersing themselves in the spirit of the celebration by masquerading.

They dressed up, enjoyed face painting, blew up balloons and played carnival-styled games aimed at reviving some Greek traditions.

The kids learnt without realising it but also left feeling a sense of Greek pride and positivity.

And for just a moment, they were transported to Greece where carnival capers are in full swing.
