Stefanos Mavromatis and Sotiria Urda’s relatives in Australia were able to attend their wedding in Greece and celebrate with them as if they were present.

The wedding took place a few days ago in Trikala with one little quirk.

As flights were cancelled due to the coronavirus many of the couple’s family and friends could not make it out to Greece.

The newlyweds found a crafty way around the issue by deciding to broadcast their wedding via a live stream.

So as half of the guests were celebrating at night in Trikala, the rest were watching it the next morning in Australia.

“It was an idea that started during the coronavirus and how people use cameras to communicate,” they said.

According to trikalavoice.gr, the young couple shared their vision with the VA Photography photo studio who were about to make their wish a reality.

The ceremony took place at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos and was followed by a traditional reception with dedications and requests from Australia!

VA Photography told Neos Kosmos the wedding ceremony and the party were not only broadcast in Sydney, where most of the couple’s relatives and friends live, but also in other Australian cities.
