Russian owned robotics startup Promobot promises to pay US$200,000 to own the perpetual rights to your face and voice in order to create its next service-focused humanoid robot. Promobot, which is based in New York has been named the largest European maker of robots.

The humanoid will be replicated thousands of times and will be usable in several environments, such as malls, airports, and other public venues in North America and the Middle East. According to Promobot, age, gender, and race are not deciding factors in picking the face and that anyone over 25 can apply for the role on their website. The specific demand is meant for an American company which is seeking to provide robots with a more humanoid appearance to its market.

Once the right person is chosen, a 3D model of their face and body will be created and over 100 hours of speech will be dictated for the robot to be able to respond to their owners. The robot is set to start appearing in 2023.

“Since 2019, we have been actively manufacturing and supplying humanoid robots to the market,” Promobot said in a press release.

“Our new clients want to launch a large-scale project, and as for this, they need to license a new robot appearance to avoid legal delays.”
