Peter Andre has been teaching his children Greek so they can speak to their grandparents and stay connected to their cultural heritage.

Andre’s Greek Cypriot parents speak predominantly Greek which is one of the main reasons the father-of-four wants his children to be able to effectively converse with his parents, Thea and Savvas.

“I’ve tried to teach my kids Greek so they can speak it when they visit their Yiayia and Pappou,” the singer said.

The 49-year-old star, who was born in the UK moved to Australia when he was six. Over the summer holidays, Andre took his four children Junior, 17; Princess, 15, Amelia, nine; and Theo, six, to see his family sharing a series of posts on social media.

One video posted on Instagram showed budding music star Junior hugging and talking to his grandmother in Greek.

“Hello my Junior! How are you my love?” his mum says with Junior responding in perfect Greek “Hello yiayia are you okay?”.

“We love you mum. Her reaction to Junior is beautiful. They always speak Greek together,” Andre captioned the post.

“It’s so sweet as it proves love really is an international language. The joy my mum had when the kids were around was incredible.”
